Our client is a leading southern California bank who growing their automotive finance division. They are seeking a seasoned Controller with automotive lending experience. This is your opportunity to leverage your experience with a leading institution. Summary The Controller is responsible for directing the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions. This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting and reporting applications to ensure that the Company’s financial position and operations are reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”). In addition, the Controller is responsible to ensure that the Company operates with effective internal controls over financial reporting. The Controller is responsible for the month-end close process including ensuring that all general ledger accounts are reconciled and outstanding items are cleared in a timely manner. The Controller will prepare and present monthly financial analyses to senior management each month regarding variances to prior periods and the Company’s annual operating budget. The Controller is responsible for the accounting and reporting of the Company’s auto securitization transactions including the preparation of monthly servicer reports. The Controller will also prepare financial reports for management and the board of directors. The Controller will be responsible for coordinating all internal and external audits over financial reporting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Oversee all accounting and reporting function of the Company; Ensure the Company’s maintains effective internal controls over financial reporting; Manage the month-end close process including the reconciliation of all general ledger accounts; Prepare financial reports for senior management and the board of directors; Lead in the accounting and reporting of all activities associated with the Company’s auto securitization transactions; and Coordinates all internal and external audits over financial reporting. BSA Attends training and maintains a basic knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with the laws and regulations governing financial institutions, as they apply to your position and job responsibilities, with an emphasis on the BSA/AML/Consumer Privacy, Regulation CC Information Security, and Bank Protection Act. Computer Skills Able to develop complex models used to close the financial books and records each month. Able to design and build complex reports for senior management and the board of directors. Certificates and Licenses Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities The current position does not have direct reports. However, it is expected that as the company grows, this position will supervise financial analysts.
