National Director of Automotive Service Centers

Our client is the leader in developing ignition interlock devices, or car breathalyzers, used by thousands of customers with court mandated DUI issues.  If you are interested in joining a company with terrific product and a seasoned team of professionals this is it.  
We have been retained to conduct a search for their  Director of Automotive Service Centers .  This crucial position will oversee and lead our support to over 2000 automotive service centers throughout the United Sates who install and service our products. These service centers  are a combination of automotive national and regional service center chains and individual shops.  These service centers install and service  the equipment .   Our Director will lead a growing team (currently at 25 personnel).  The personnel make up Technical Support, Training Group, and Administration .
We are seeking senior level candidates who understand how automotive service centers operate, their culture, how to communicate with them and how to help them.  Part of the change we are looking for is making our  automotive service center partners feel more like the  important partners that they are.
Our Director will be very experienced with policies / procedures / standards with automotive service centers.  Our expectation is that our Director will restructure this department to account for our growth and future growth.  Challenging status quo and continual improvement  will always be part of the job description. 
Some your 1st year duties will include:
  • Review and improve all policies and procedures
  • Understand and improve labor metrics
  • Improve standards for installation
  • Identify ways to create a better experience for our service center partners and reduce turnover
As you can see our Director will have great influence over the success of our company.  It is important that our Director is both a strategic and tactical thinker .   Most of all we need a seasoned leader who can raise the bar for our Service Center relations.
To help ensure a great fit, we are seeking candidates with the following experiences/skills/traits:
  • Seasoned leader over multiple automotive service centers
  • Leader who can coach, mentor and develop staff
  • Policies , procedures and standards experience with automotive service centers
  • Experience  with labor metrics and standards
  • Ability to make presentations to senior management
  • Ability to relocate to Des Moines, IA
